It is my pleasure to inform you that your name was submitted to the ACM Fellows Committee and your nomination is among those recommended for this distinction. By this letter it is my privilege to request that you confirm your acceptance of elevation to ACM Fellow. As you know, Fellow is ACM's highest membership grade. The number of
Fellows is limited and the criteria are very strict. Congratulations on this very significant honor.
ACM will be issuing a press release to announce the list of new ACM Fellows. If your organization plans to issue a press release please do not do so until ACM makes the first, official announcement. Please provide Rosemary McGuinness (mcguinness@acm.org) with the name and email address of your Public Relations contact person and this information will be forwarded to Virginia (Gini) Gold, ACM's PR Coordinator, who will keep them informed of the release date.
If appropriate, your employers will be informed of the honor that has been so conferred. The Fellows Program helps to recognize ACM members who have made significant contributions to information technology, identify persons who are available for expert advice, advance computer science and information technology as respected disciplines, and improve the status of the recipients within the profession.
For this award to become effective you must indicate your acceptance in writing by signing the attached form, and provide a biography or curriculum vitae. The induction of the ACM Fellows will be held at the ACM Awards Banquet which is scheduled for Saturday, June 21, 2014, at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco, California. Although it is early, we would appreciate it if you would let us know if you think you will
be able to join us in San Francisco. Additional information on details for the banquet will be sent to you as soon as these are determined. If you accept this invitation to become an ACM Fellow, it is not required that you be present for the induction ceremony, however, I hope that your schedule will permit you to join us and give me the opportunity to meet you personally.
Congratulations on being invited to join the distinguished roster of ACM Fellows.
